Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP) , a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is India’s youngest national park located in Kullu district in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India.
The park was established in 1984 and is spread over an area of 1,171 km2 at an altitude of between 1500 to 6000 meters above sea level.
Thini top is a sacred site located at 3505 meters above sea level acts as a pass between Sainj & Banjar valleys and lies right on top of Shanghar village.Shanghar is a remote & exotic Himalayan village at an altitude of around 2050 meters ASL surrounded by GHNP and is home to beautiful golf ground like natural meadow which said to be belonging to local devta (diety) hidden from onslaught of regular party tourists.
In the month of winters from December to April Thini receives heavy snowfall yet remain accessible with ample care, equipment, guidance and support.In this moderate trek we will take the participants to the Thini Summit (11,500 Ft ASL) situated in ecozone of GHNP starting from Shanghar (6300 Ft ASL) spending two nights three days exploring the beautiful meadows of Ganjhau & Thini, pine forests and Himalayan trails full of snow.
