SUMMARY:Winter Trek to Dodital
DESCRIPTION:At an elevation of 3\,024 mts (9\,921 ft)\, Dodital is a fresh water lake in Uttarkashi District of UttaraKhand state in Indian Himalayas surrounded by oak woods\, pine\, and rhodendron forests. The lake is home to the famous Himalayan Golden Mahseer fish.\nThis beautiful place surrounded high Himalayan peaks is named after Lord Ganesha and said to be his abode. \nTrek to Dodital is quiet famous among bird lovers for bird watching. During the trek birds like Himalayan Whistling Thrush\, Himalayan Tree Pie\, Himalayan Babbler\, Bush Robin\, Pink Finch\, Brown Fronted Woodpecker\, Grey Tit\, Munia\, Common Chiffchaff\, Red-Billed Blue Magpie\, Grey Shrike\, Tailor Bird\, Himalayan Monal (Impeyan Pheasant) are commonly seen. \nApart from above\, this trek is also one of the few true Himalayan winter treks.\nThe trek includes camping alongside the beautiful Dodital ( Dodi Lake) before traversing the Darwa Pass. The pass affords impressive views of the mighty Bandarpunch(link) and the snowy ridges of the Dhaula Dhar as well as the forested ridges and meadows leading down to  Hanuman Chatti a famous pilgrim town. \nTo participate in this beginners trek one will have to reach Uttarkashi a day before. From Uttarkashi to Dodital and back will be arranged by us. \n  \nDAY BY DAY  ITINERARY\nDay 1 (Oct 31) – Reach Uttarkashi \nDay 2 (Nov 1) – Uttarkashi to Barnala (Drive 40 km + Trek 4 km) \nDay 3 (Nov 2) – Barnala to Devkund (Trek 6 km) \nDay 4 (Nov 3) – Devkund to Manjhi (Trek 9 km) \nDay 5 (Nov 4) – Manjhi to Dodital (Trek 5 km) \nDay 6 (Nov 5) – Dodital to Darwa Top and Back/Rest day (Trek 5 km up and down without bag) \nDay 7 (Nov 6) – Dodital to Bhebra (14 km downhill trek) \nDay 8 (Nov 7) – Bhebra to Uttarkashi (10 km downhill trek to Sangamchatti + 35 km drive to Uttarkashi) \n  \nParticipants can travel down to Mussorie or Rishikesh on Day 8 itself and from either place to Delhi.\nLocal buses and jeeps are available from Uttarkashi for the downhill journey. \n  \nINCLUSIONS\nAccommodation during the trek (Camping)\nVeg food during the trek (from day 2 to day 7 and breakfast on day 8)\nAll transportation Uttarkashi onwards\nFirst Aid\nPermits\nQualified and experienced Guide and support staff\nPorters/Mules to carry ration and camping equipment\nBasic survival skills training \n  \nEXCLUSIONS\nTrekking equipment (Backpack\, walking stick\, gaiters\, trekking shoes)\nPorters to carry personal stuff\nStay on Day 1 and 8 \nREGISTRATION\nBuy registration tickets available on the top and bottom of this page.
