The Chadar Trek is a winter-trail in Zanskar region of Ladakh starting from Nimoo, in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Walls of this river valley are near vertical cliffs up to 600 m high and the Zanskar River (a tributary of the Indus) is only 5 m wide in places contributing to a natural phenomena which form a thick walkable sheet of ice upon the Zanskar river.
As the motorable road to Zanskar close in winters of Ladakh, Chadar becomes the only way to commute to Zanskar from Leh for locals.

In the local language “chadar”  is the word used for sheet indicating the layer of ice that covers the river .
During the summer this river becomes a perfect location for river rafting and during the winters it transforms into an ice sheet where the famous Chadar trek is performed.
Its being used by the locals for centuries. The documentary of National Geographic Channel first brought this journey of the locals to the outside world and since then Chadar – The Frozen River Trek has hit the popularity burst.
It is rated as one of the best treks existing in the planet by many.
For many years Chadar trek has attracted tourist from all over the world.

• X Delhi – This package will also includes flights from Delhi to Leh and return along with inclusions of X Leh package.

• X Leh – In this package transportation from airport to guest house in Leh and to trek start point is provided . Participant will have to reach Leh on their own. Package includes all mentioned heads ahead on this page .
  Cost of this package per person in INR is 21,500/- inclusive of all taxes. Registration ticket is available at the top & bottom of this page.

♦ DAY BY DAY PLAN

Day 1: Reach Leh

Fly to Leh. Pickup from Airport to Guest House. Take rest in hotel for the day & night to acclimatize well.

Day 2: Leh to Trek Start point Shingra Yokma

Pick up from Leh hotel and shared drive to Shingra Yokma via Leh-Srinagar road and then Nimoo, Chilling village. Overnight stay in tents at Shingra Yokma

Day 3: Shingra Yokma to Tsomo Cave

Trek from Shingra Yokma to Tsomo Cave. Overnight stay in tents near to Tsomo Cave

Day 4: Tsomo Cave to Tibb Cave

Trek from Tsomo cave to Tibb Cave. Overnight stay in tents near to Tibb cave

Day 5: Tibb Cave to Nerak Frozen Waterfall

Trek from Tibb to Nerak Overnight stay in tents in tents/homestay in Nerak village

Day 6: Nerak to Tibb Cave

Trek from Nerak to Tibb Cave. Overnight stay in tents near Tibb cave.

Day 7: Tibb Cave to Tsomo Cave

Trek from Tibb Cave to Tsomo Cave. Overnight stay in tents near to Tsomo cave.

Day 8: Tsomo Cave to Shingra Yokma to Leh

Walk from Tsomo cave to Shingra Yokma Pickup from Shingra Yokma in Private taxi Shared drive to Leh Overnight in Leh in Hotel

Day 9: Fly from Leh

Leave hotel after breakfast. Drop to airport in taxi. Fly to home with lifetime memories

♦ Refund & Cancellation

In case of cancellation initiated from our side there will be full refunds.
In case of cancellation from participant 15 days before the trek, there will be a deduction of INR 2000/- from the amount paid, rest will be refunded.

No refunds for cancellations initiated within 15 days of the trek.
