The Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP), is one of India’s national parks, is located in Kullu region in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The park was established in 1984 and is spread over an area of 1,171 km² at an altitude of between 1500 to 6000 meters above sea level.
The Great Himalayan National Park is a habitat to numerous flora and more than 375 fauna species, including approximately 31 mammals, 181 birds, 3 reptiles, 9 amphibians, 11 annelids, 17 mollusks and 127 insects.

In June 2014, the Great Himalayan National Park was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.The Unesco World Heritage Site Committee granted the status to the park under the criteria of “outstanding significance for biodiversity conservation”.

Shangharh is a remote & exotic Himalayan hamlet at an altitude of around 6000 feet ASL situated in Sainj valley surrounded by GHNP and is home to beautiful polo ground like natural meadow hidden from onslaught of regular tourists.
Couple of years back only way to reach Shangharh was a 3-4 hour moderate trek but recent developments connected it through a motorable road to Ropa to which a tarmac road leads from Sainj and Delhi-Manali highway.
Road from Ropa to Shangharh is still almost like an offroad route good enough to be traversed only by motorcycles or SUV/Jeep.

In this trip, we will be starting our journey from Delhi and will be reaching Shangharh the next day to camp in Shangharh meadow for the day followed by a day’s trek and camp in GHNP the next day before starting the return journey.

Participation Modes

One can participate in this trip either on own motorcycle (150 cc or above) or in own SUV/JEEP (GC>=200 mm).
Start point will be Karnal Bypass, New Delhi.

GHNP – Shangharh – Larji – Shoja – Jalori Pass – Khanag – Ani – Sainj – Narkanda

Narkanda – Chail/Shimla – Parwadoo – Ambala – Delhi

Package Inclusions

Accommodation
Stay will be provided on twin sharing basis in hotels on day 1 and 4.
Stay will be provided in tents on sharing basis (including all quality camping equipment) on day 2 & 3.
Tent options will be 2 Men/3 Men.

Food
Veg/Nonveg Breakfast and dinner will be provided in buffet on Day 1 and 4.
Veg Camp cooked Breakfast, Lunch and dinner will be provided on Day 2 and 3.

Trek Guide & Porters
A certified guide will be escorting the group for trek in GHNP.
Porters will be provided to carry the camping equipment during the trek in GHNP.

Tour Captain
An experienced english speaking tour captain will be leading the group from Delhi to Delhi.

Bonfire
Bonfire will be provided on day 2 and 3.

Permits
All required permits will be arranged as a part of the package.

Village Walk
An escorted village walk in the ancient village of Shagharh will be provided with interaction with the locals.

Transportation
Transportation X-Delhi will be provided for participants opting for HMRA Vehicle package. From Delhi to Aut and return a seat in AV VOLVO will be provided. From Aut to Shangharh, GHNP and return a private SUV will be provided on sharing basis. Not applicable for own vehicle package.

Mineral Water
Porters to carry personal stuff during the trek. They will be available on demand though.

Refund & Cancellation

In case of cancellation initiated from our side there will be full refunds.
In case of cancellation from participant before 20 June 2016, there will be a deduction of INR 1000/- from the amount paid, rest will be refunded.

No refunds for cancellations initiated after 20 June 2016.
