Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP) is India’s youngest national park located in Kullu district in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India.
The park was established in 1984 and is spread over an area of 1,171 km² at an altitude of between 1500 to 6000 meters above sea level.
The Great Himalayan National Park is habitat to numerous flora and more than 375 fauna species, including approximately 31 mammals, 181 birds, 3 reptiles, 9 amphibians, 11 annelids, 17 mollusks and 127 insects and off course lots and lots of virgin adventure.

In June 2014, the Great Himalayan National Park was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.The Unesco World Heritage Site Committee granted the status to the park under the criteria of “outstanding significance for biodiversity conservation”.

Shangharh from where the trek will start is a remote & exotic Himalayan hamlet at an altitude of around 1921 mts (6300 feet) ASL situated in Sainj valley surrounded by GHNP and is home to beautiful golf ground like natural meadow which said to be belonging to local devta (god) hidden from onslaught of regular party tourists.
Couple of years back only way to reach this amazingly beautiful serene place was a 3-4 hour moderate trek from town of Neuli but recent developments connected it through a motorable road to Ropa to which a tarmac road leads from Sainj and Delhi-Manali highway.
Shangharh is basically 55 kms while coming from Mandi (Chandigarh side) and 45 kms while coming from Kullu (Manali side)

From Shangharh we will be hiking towards Parkachi Meadow and then Raktisar near glacier point through wild trails of GHNP & along the serene Sainj Nallah.
There are various amazing waterfalls along the way with lot of wild bio diversity to observe.

DAY BY DAY PLAN

Day 1 Shangharh (1900 MTS ASL) to Lapah (2100 MTS ASL) – 14 KMS
Reach Shangharh in Sainj near Ropa a night before and stay in luxury homestay.
Start trek from homestay leaving extra luggage and vehicles there if any.
Reach Lapah village in GHNP after moderately tough hike of around 10 kms
Bonfire in the evening.
Stay in tents.

Day 2:   Lapah (2000 MTS ASL) to Shakti (2100 MTS ASL) – 12 KMS
Reach Shakti after walking of around 12 KMS going along the river most of the time and witnessing some of the most beautiful waterfalls of GHNP.
Bonfire in the evening.
Stay in tents.

Day 3:  Shakti (2100 MTS ASL) to Parkachi Meadow (3000 MTS ASL) – 10 KMS
Trek along Sainj river with gradual ascent.
Enjoy the spectacular 360 degree views and amazing sunset from Parkachi meadow
Bonfire in the evening.
Stay in tents

Day 4:  Parkachi Meadow (3000 MTS ASL) to Raktisar (4500 MTS ASL) – 14 KMS
Along the river, quite a strenuous ascent through rocky portions and tricky waterfalls.
Enjoy viewing various wild and amazing small to big waterfalls along the trail.
Bonfire in the evening.
Stay in Tents

Day 5:  Rest Day at Raktisar (4500 MTS ASL)
Day hike to glacier point.
Spectacular Sunrise and Sunset.
Opportunity to observe wild life (Red Fox, Himalayan Tahr,)
Bonfire in the evening.
Stay in tents.

Day 6:  Raktisar (4500 MTS ASL) to Parkachi Meadow (3000 MTS ASL)  – 14 KMS
Tricky descent through rocky portions.
Bonfire in the evening.
Stay in tents.

Day 7:  Parkachi Meadow (3000 MTS ASL)  to Shakti (2100 MTS ASL) – 10 KMS
Gradual descent.
Bonfire in the evening.
Stay in tents.

Day 8:  Shakti (2100 MTS ASL) to Neuli (1500 MTS ASL)  – 16 KMS
Long descent alongside Sainj river.
Pickup from Neuli by vehicle and drop at Shangharh
Stay in Chalet style luxury home stay.
Bonfire in the evening

Day 9:  Leave homestay after breakfast.

PARTICIPATION MODES & COSTS

There are two participation modes available as follows

• X Delhi – In this package transportation is provided from Delhi, or any pick up location between Delhi to Chandigarh, to Aut by AC Volvo and then local transport till Shangharh and back to Delhi in the same way along with other package inclusions mentioned ahead on this page.
  Cost of this package per person in INR is 15,000/- inclusive of all taxes. Registration ticket is available at the top & bottom of this page.
• X Shangharh – In this package no transportation is provided . Partcipant will have to reach Shangharh on their own. Package includes all mentioned ahead on this page except tranportaion. Guidance to reach Shangharh can be provided.
  Cost of this package per person in INR is 12,000/- inclusive of all taxes. Registration ticket is available at the top & bottom of this page.

Package Inclusions

Accommodation & Equipment
Stay will be provided on twin sharing basis in homestay for two nights.
Stay will be provided in tents on sharing basis (including all quality camping equipment) on all trek days.
Tent options will be 2 Men/3 Men.
Sleeping bag and Mat will be alllocated individually on day 1.

Food
Veg/Nonveg meals will be provided in homestay.
Veg Camp cooked Tea, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner will be provided on trek days.

Trek Guide & Porters
A certified guide will be escorting the group for trek in GHNP.
Porters will be provided to carry the camping equipment during the trek in GHNP.

Bonfire
Bonfire will be arranged on all evenings provided whether permit.

Village Walk
An escorted village walk in the ancient village of Shagharh and Shangchul temple will be provided with interaction with the locals.

Transportation
Transportation from and to Delhi or any location between Delhi to Chandigarh will be provided for participants opting for X Delhi package. From Delhi to Aut and return a seat in AV VOLVO will be provided. From Aut to Shangharh, GHNP and return a private SUV will be provided on sharing basis. Not applicable for X Shangharh package.

Refund & Cancellation

In case of cancellation initiated from our side there will be full refunds.
In case of cancellation from participant before a week more to go for event , there will be a deduction of INR 1000/- from the amount paid, rest will be refunded.

No refunds for cancellations initiated after less than a week to go for the trek.
