So if you are done roaming the middle Himalayas then STOK KANGRI SUMMIT in the land of ADVENTURE LADAKH should be on your list next before you set up for the higher technical peaks of Himalayas or the world.

Stok Kangri at 6,153 metres (20,187 ft) above sea level is the highest mountain in the Stok Range of the Himalayas in the Ladakh region of northwest India. The peak is located in Hemis National Park, 12 km southwest of the trailhead at 3,610 metres (11,844 ft) in the village of Stok and around 15 km southwest of the Ladakhi capital of Leh.

Named after Stok village, Stok Kangri summit is the highest trekable peak in Indian Himalayas which makes it open to even trekkers with less trekking or mountaineering experience. Summit provides amazing views of Ladakh and Zanskar ranges along with Saser & K2 Peaks in Karakoram range.

Even though Stok is a trekable peak but final 1000 mts ascent to the summit is quiet tricky and would need high levels of both mental & physical fitness.Proper acclimatization before & after the trek and adequate physical training under expert guidance & planning can be the crucial factors for successful climb.

Reach Leh, the capital of Ladakh today
Check in to hotel/guesthouse after pickup from airport
Take rest & acclimatize, avoid any kind of outdoor activity
Overnight stay in Leh after Dinner

DAY 1

Day 2 | Acclimatize some more| 3500 Mts/11483 Ft ASL

Have a lavish breakfast in Hotel and chill around
Explore local Leh market and city, walk a bit
Take rest & acclimatize some more

DAY 2

Day 3 | Acclimatize Drive & Trek to Khardung La| 5359 Mts/17582 Ft ASL

Have a lavish breakfast in Hotel
Get picked up for a SUV drive towards Khardung La
We do an acclimatization hike near to Khardung La, back to Leh by evening
Overnight stay in Leh after Dinner

DAY 3

Day 4 | Leh to Mankarmo Camp Site| 5602 Mts/18380 Ft ASL

Have a lavish breakfast in Hotel
Get picked up for a 14 kms drive towards Stok Village
From stok start trekking alongside riverbed
Reach Mankarmo in 5-6 hours with lunch on the way
Overnight stay in Mankarmo after Dinner

Day 4

Day 5 |Mankarmo to Base Camp| 4900 Mts/16076 Ft ASL

Start trekking towards base camp after breakfast
Reach Stok Kangri Base Camp after trekking for approx 5-6 hours with lunch on the way
Relax at Base Camp and enjoy the vistas around
Overnight stay in Base Camp after Dinner

Day 5

Day 6 |Rest cum Training Day at Base Camp| 4900 Mts/16076 Ft ASL

Today is the day when you relax your body & mind and prepare them for the summit attempt next day
Enjoy your meals, do some photography around
Trail Captain & Climbing Leader will brief you about the climbing equipment and situations you might face during summiting
Overnight stay at Base Camp after Dinner

Day 6

Day 7 | STOK KANGRI SUMMIT ATTEMPT | 20,177 Feet/6153 Meters ASL

Today you attempt summit which is the most challenging and thrilling part of the trek
Start the trek midnight so that you have ample time to turn back from the summit
Go through glaciers and then steep slopes till summit ridge to reach the STOK KANGRI SUMMIT
All pain will seem worthy once you will see the spectacular Himalayan views from the ridge
Come back to base camp by evening. Overnight stay at Base Camp after Dinner

Day 7

Day 8 | Base Camp to Leh | 3500 Mts/11483 Ft ASL

Today we start trekking back from base camp to Stok village after breakfast
From Stok village get picked up for a drive till Leh stay
Take rest in Hotel in Leh. Overnight stay at Leh after Dinner

Day 9 | Start your return forward journey

Check out hotel after breakfast
Get picked up for drop to airport for your return or forward journey
