At an elevation of 3,024 mts (9,921 ft), Dodital is a fresh water lake in Uttarkashi District of UttaraKhand state in Indian Himalayas surrounded by oak woods, pine, and rhodendron forests. The lake is home to the famous Himalayan Golden Mahseer fish.
This beautiful place surrounded high Himalayan peaks is named after Lord Ganesha and said to be his abode.

Trek to Dodital is quiet famous among bird lovers for bird watching. During the trek birds like Himalayan Whistling Thrush, Himalayan Tree Pie, Himalayan Babbler, Bush Robin, Pink Finch, Brown Fronted Woodpecker, Grey Tit, Munia, Common Chiffchaff, Red-Billed Blue Magpie, Grey Shrike, Tailor Bird, Himalayan Monal (Impeyan Pheasant) are commonly seen.

Apart from above, this trek is also one of the few true Himalayan winter treks.
The trek includes camping alongside the beautiful Dodital ( Dodi Lake) before traversing the Darwa Pass. The pass affords impressive views of the mighty Bandarpunch(link) and the snowy ridges of the Dhaula Dhar as well as the forested ridges and meadows leading down to  Hanuman Chatti a famous pilgrim town.

To participate in this beginners trek one will have to reach Uttarkashi a day before. From Uttarkashi to Dodital and back will be arranged by us.

DAY BY DAY  ITINERARY

Day 1 (Oct 31) – Reach Uttarkashi

Day 2 (Nov 1) – Uttarkashi to Barnala (Drive 40 km + Trek 4 km)

Day 3 (Nov 2) – Barnala to Devkund (Trek 6 km)

Day 4 (Nov 3) – Devkund to Manjhi (Trek 9 km)

Day 5 (Nov 4) – Manjhi to Dodital (Trek 5 km)

Day 6 (Nov 5) – Dodital to Darwa Top and Back/Rest day (Trek 5 km up and down without bag)

Day 7 (Nov 6) – Dodital to Bhebra (14 km downhill trek)

Day 8 (Nov 7) – Bhebra to Uttarkashi (10 km downhill trek to Sangamchatti + 35 km drive to Uttarkashi)

Participants can travel down to Mussorie or Rishikesh on Day 8 itself and from either place to Delhi.
Local buses and jeeps are available from Uttarkashi for the downhill journey.

REFUND & CANCELLATION

CANCELLATION BY US

HMRA/Trek Organizers reserves the right to cancel the trek and will advise you of such cancellations no later than 7 days before the tour departure date. If due to ‘Force Majeure’, HMRA/Trek Organizers reserves the right to cancel a departure at any time. With any form of cancellation, HMRA/Trek Organizers will offer you alternative Treks/tours, and if the price of your alternative booking is of lower value than the original booking we will refund the difference to you. If you do not accept alternative arrangements we will refund all payments after deducting our cost incurred in advance booking. HMRA/Trek Organizers will not be liable for any additional costs incurred by you.

HMRA/Trek Organizers will not be liable for any delay in, change to or cancellation of trek due to ‘Force Majeure’. ‘Force Majeure’ means a circumstance beyond the reasonable control of HMRA/Trek Organizers and includes, but is not limited to, war or threat of war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, disease, industrial or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire and strikes.

5) CANCELLATION BY YOU

If you wish to cancel all or any part of your booking, notification of cancellation must be made to HMRA in writing/email. The date of the cancellation is the date on which HMRA receives  notification by email or in writing. Days before departure charge applicable as follows, per person:

Up to 24 Days                   :-           95% of Trek/Tour cost will be refunded.

Between 14-24 Day         :-             70% of Trek/Tour cost will be refunded.

Between 14-08 Days       :-             50% of Trek/Tour cost will be refunded.

Less than 7 Days              :-           No refund

DISCLAIMERS

• At all times during the trek the decision of the HMRA/Trek leader or representative will be final on all matters likely to affect the safety and well-being of the trip. This includes any decision that the Leader makes about your on-going participation in the trip or certain activities that comprise part of the trip.  If you fail to comply with a decision made by a HMRA Leader, or interfere with the well-being of the group, then the Leader reserves the right to terminate this contract and order you to leave the tour immediately, with no right of refund.
• The organisers will carry basic first aid, but any medical emergency treatment as well as the travel costs up to the nearest doctor or hospital will have to borne by the participant
• Participants will have to bring their own backpacks. The organizers will provide tents, sleeping bags and sleeping mattresses.
• Participants will have to make their own travel arrangements up to Uttarkashi as well as their stay in Uttarkashi.
  Lodging arrangements for Day 1 can be arranged in Uttarkashi on actual cost basis.
